With a new release right around the corner it’s time for another meet the characters post, introducing some of the new characters that you’ll meet in book 2. There are some minor spoilers for book 1 in this post, so read at your own risk if you haven’t finished The Legionnaire. I had fun building some new dynamics between characters we’d already met in book 1 and introducing new energy with the characters we meet in book 2.
Cassimir
If you’ve read book 1 you know we already met Cassimir at the end of The Legionnaire. He’s the foreign ambassador sent to Kaizia from the southern empire of Taezhali. In book 2 we get to learn a lot more about Cassimir and see his relationships grow, especially with Saiden. He introduces the reader to more information about his kingdom, especially its food. He’s sweet and kind and I had such fun writing him as a contrast to the legionnaire’s in book 1 who are very strict and disciplined.
Magdalena
At the end of The Legionnaire we see Magdalena reunited with her daughter. For Saiden it’s a struggle, because she’s lost Nakti, her adopted mother, and gained her real mother back at the same time. But we get to hear more about what Saiden’s early childhood before everything went wrong.
Eleni
Cassimir’s sister, and beloved niece of the emperor of Taezhali. She is quick to befriend Saiden and do her best to help the group when they go to visit the empire. She is an uninitiated priestess, but still wears the headscarf to honor her mother, who passes away a few years ago.
Rami
Cassimir and Eleni’s father, widow of the princess of Taezhali.
Akil
Crowned Prince of Taezhali, eldest son of the emperor. Scientific interest in the gifts of the middle kingdom
Khari
Second Prince of Taezhali, youngest son of the emperor. Cares about taking care of the country and providing for the people.
